Cranmer Hall is a small
Queen Anne stately home, set in a farmed park, surrounded by beautiful unspoilt
countryside.
The Hall is 8 miles from Bumham Market and the beautiful heritage coast of North
Norfolk, including the expansive sandy beach of Holkam (where the last scenes of
the film "Shakespeare in Love" was filmed). For sailors there are the same
numerous creeks to explore on which a young Nelson took his first lessons. The
area is notable for the wildlife, and internationally renowned nature reserves,
such asTitchwell, Cley and Blakney. The coast is also dotted with pretty seaside
towns like Wells, Burnham, Blakney, Holme-next-the-Sea, and Stiffkey, as well as
inland Holt, where specialist food and antique shops can be found. Cranmer Hall
is also only three miles from the pilgrimage centre of Walsingham, visited by
pilgrims since the 12th Century, including Henry VIII. The area also
abounds with historic houses, including Sandringham Hall, Houghton Hall,
Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall and Activities such as hunting, shooting, fishing,
golf and riding can all be arranged nearby.
